“I am 39 years old. When I first met Matt, I was 34 years old, I was considered “obese” according to my doctor, but what’s more, I absolutely hated myself. I had no confidence at all, no self-esteem and truly no sense of self-worth. My blood pressure was borderline high, my cholesterol was dangerously high and what’s more I was so depressed that I continued to just drown my sorrows in food. It was in January of 2018 I decided to take my life back. I met with a Bariatric surgeon to have what’s called a Gastrectomy, or gastric sleeve done. For years prior to meeting Matt, I struggled with portion control. My body chemistry would never tell me that I was actually full, until I was so full that I was in excruciating pain and or extremely sick to my stomach.
Upon meeting with my surgeon, I was given a goal. I had to lose 25 pounds on my own before I would get approved for surgery25 pounds may not seem like a lot but when you are 6’1 and 300+ pounds, trying to lose even 1 proved to be challenging. I was trying to do everything on my own, track my own calories, watch every single thing I put in my mouth, and I felt like I was constantly starving. However, after months of going to the gym for 1 hour, every singly day for months, I was finally able to get my weight down by 18 pounds. I had a follow up appointment with my surgeon, and I was finally approved for surgery.
After surgery, I was losing weight on my own but I felt like I was still doing everything wrong. I was so excited about losing weight, I felt like I was starting to get some confidence back, but I was so consumed with my body image and the access skin that I now had. That is when I started looking for a trainer.
At the time, Matt had recently branched out on his own and started his business of becoming not only a life coach, but a friend. I have watched Matt develop his business from the ground up. Matt started out with a handful of clients and has grown to not only training the body, but he ensures that the mind stays healthy as well. This is not a practice of “let’s get swoll”, this is a practice of learning how to nurture the body with the right foods, eating well, what to purchase while shopping, supplementation if needed, as well as strength training. All of these concepts tie together and if we do one thing incorrectly, it throws off your entire goal. If you want a trainer, you can go anywhere for that. If you want a “partner” who will always hold you accountable, treat you with kindness and ultimately become your best friend, you should reach out to Matt.
I promise you; your life will be forever changed.”
